Today went well, but was very Unusually Long; I think because we gained 2 hours last night! The younger ones said it was the longest day ever. But of course, when you are digging footers waist high, the time probably does not feel like it is ticking that fast. The men and some of us women took turns digging and bending rebar wire, while others sewed curtains, weeded flower beds, and painted. Mimi's House is in need of renovation and repair, which is a girls boarding house that the Greene family has just started. Most girls here do not get an education beyond 5th or 6th grade, so the Greene's offer their house as a place to stay to further their education, as well as show them hope and a better way of life. It really is amazing. The 2 girls that are here now, Lupita and Gowdy, are absolutely precious and have come from pretty rough situations. Dirt floors, no running water, scarce food, possible abuse, etc.
Time is getting late, so better go. Need to rest up for Antigua tomorrow. Lunch at Mcdonald's and supper at Pizza Hut on Sunday!
