Last Day

Well, I can't believe today was our last day in Guatemala. This feels very surreal and bittersweet. We have had such a blast serving with one another. This team was already close, but his past week strengthened that bond even more.
This morning, the girls completed a few painting projects around Mimi's House, while the men mixed and poured concrete. The room addition is not complete, but it came along way the past 6 days. Hopefully, when we come back it will be housing more girls to give them a future and a hope. We will miss Lupita and Goudie and will continue to pray for them and their life situations. We will continue to pray for the girls to come who will be rescued from a life of poverty and no hope.
After lunch, we took 20 plus suitcases filled with clothes, shoes, eyeglasses, school supplies, toys, bibles, and food to Edgar's church for a community outreach. Edgar is associate pastor at his church, so he organized this to reach the unchurched in his community. I cannot believe how quickly all the items went. The shoes and bibles went first. I saw one lady take Annsley's old sketchers for her daughter. I saw another take toys that were donated to ESV for this trip. So many items from Ky are now on families in Guatemala.
A few women passed off their infants to our team so they could look around at the donated items. We held them what seemed like forever. It was just so overwhelming to see needs being met. Jason had a few snacks in his backpack and pulled them out. 2 seconds and they were gone.
Zach interacted a lot with the children again and tonight at devotion he said " I just liked seeing all the smiles on the kids' faces. "
We gave away the stuff for free, to show the people that God's grace is a free gift. We hope and pray that God will use that church to reach souls.
Please pray for our travels tomorrow. We are leaving at 4:30am to drive to airport. Our flight is at 7:20 out of Guatemala to Dallas, and at 2:00 from Dallas to Nashville.

God has been so good to us. All He wants us to say is "Here am I, send me" and He will take care of the rest!!
